Hi,

I'm quite new on snmp so please don't hit me too hard :D

The system I'm running snmpd is redhat FC5:
Linux xxx.yyy.zz 2.6.16-1.2111_FC5smp #1 SMP Thu May 4 21:35:09 EDT 2006 i686
i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I installed net-snmp yesterday with yum (yum install net-snmp).
So I got version 5.3
I configured snmpd.conf and started the service (/etc/init.d/snmpd start)

I configured cacti to get the data and display it and it is working fine.

The problem is that I have frequently errors in my /var/log/messages file:
Jun 8 11:47:40 xxx snmpd[6981]: error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert (-1)
Jun 8 11:47:40 xxx snmpd[6981]: error on subcontainer '' insert (-1)
Jun 8 11:48:10 xxx snmpd[6981]: error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert (-1)
Jun 8 11:48:10 xxx snmpd[6981]: error on subcontainer '' insert (-1)
Jun 8 11:48:40 xxx snmpd[6981]: error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert (-1)
Jun 8 11:48:40 xxx snmpd[6981]: error on subcontainer '' insert (-1)

I also have one snmpd on another machine which is working fine (I didn't
install it)
Its version is 5.2.1.2 and Everything works fine.

I used snmpd.conf of version 5.2.1.2 to configure the 5.3 one.

So I'm wondering if I missed something or if there is a 'bug' with the new
version (at least with the redhat binary)
I've seen someone speaking about a patch but it was not exactly the same
problem I thought (maybe I'm wrong)

Hoping you have enough data to help and my question not being too stupid,
Nicolas
