The various DisMan "remote operations" implementation (including the Ping MIB)
are provisional code provided by an external contributor. Speaking personally
(and definitely *not* as an official representative of the project), I'm not convinced
that the code is particularly useful or useable as it stands. I'd prefer to see this
code omitted altogether, until it can be re-worked or replaced with something
rather more portable/robust/etc. But that's very much a private opinion, and is
not generally shared by the other developers.
But it does not particularly surprise me that you are having problems getting this
code to compile. If you come up with a list of the changes you needed to make
in order to get it working, we'd be happy to apply them to the source.
