Hi
All,
What should be the
error code to be returned for a set request on
1. an object
whose STATUS is defined as obsolete
2. an object whose
MAX-ACCESS is defined as not-accessible
As per my
understanding of RFC 1905, not-writable is to be returned in the above 2 cases.
[From RFC
1905]
(9)
Otherwise, if the variable binding's name specifies a variable which exists but
can not be modified no matter what new value is specified, then the value of the
Response-PDU's error-status field is set to `notWritable', and the value of its
error-index field is set to the index of the failed variable
binding.
Please let me know
if this (notWritable) is correct or noAccess has to be returned for the above 2
cases.
Regards,
Suresh.
