Hi,

The problem:
-------------
I having problems receiving notifications with SHA authorization (MD5 works
well). The notification are being sent, but my browser sends a REPORT with
"WrongDigests".

My settings:
------------
I'm defining a v3 user with authorization and privacy, and I'm defining a trap
manager with Level authNoPriv.

I'm using net-snmp-5.3.1, and I've applied patch [1644280] - "V3 traps sent via
TARGET-MIB use wrong engine ID", but i don't think it has anything to do with
it.

Analysis:
----------
1) I checked and double checked the password I'm using (12345678) both in the
agent and in the manager.
2) I tried MD5 and it works (I receive the notification)

Questions:
---------------
1) Is there a chance that the MD5 vs. SHA authorization differs in the way the
engine ID is used? I guess there is no difference, since with a sniffer I see
that both MD5 and SHA packets have the manager's engineID as the authorizing
engine.
2) Could it be a problem with "MGS-Soft MIB browser"? It's a pretty solid
application. And accessing the snmp agent with SHA works well.

3) Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Erez.
