Hi All,
I am trying to install net-snmp from the source code . The installation
is successful and
it is installed in the default location.
Now to configure I have the sample configuration file EXAMPLE.conf to
/usr/local/share/snmp
and rename it to snmpd.conf . I also provided a community string using
rocommunity in
snmpd.conf file.
I am confused regarding how to start the agent (snmpd) service .
There is agent directory under the net-snmp directory which contains an
executable file named snmpd.
I executed this file in the hope that this is the snmpd daemon. No message
was flashed.
After that I executed the snmpget command to check whether the agent is
working or not.
But it give no response .
So , I want to know how to start the snmpd agent.
