It's unfortunately a bit complicated here I use Kubuntu Dapper (the LTS version) and therefore the snmpd is the one Dapper delivers. However for my agentx agent I compile net-snmp myself to be independent of the OS where my agent runs (I deliver my app with all necessary libs included) So there is a chance that the snmpd that comes with Dapper is broken. It reports in the log as NET-SNMP version 5.2.1.2 but I don't know if and what patches the Ubuntu folks may apply. If the Dapper version is faulty you might notify the Ubuntu folks to fix it, so that you don't get more of these problems reported. > Can you confirm that a 5.2.4 master agent does indeed fail > in the same way? As stated above I don't use that master agent. I am sorry if this strange combination of versions caused you trouble. > Dave Thanks very much for the analysis. Lothar -- Lothar Werzinger Dipl.-Ing.
