HI Pradhap:
                 Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work. I still get 
the following error message when I manually start snmpd without having my 
LD_LIBRARY_PATH set:

./snmpd fatal: libgcc_s.so.1 open failed no such file or directory

I could really use some help with this!
