I take it that the "old servers" are *not* running 5.4? Because at least the /sys and /proc/* entries are expected to get skipped because they're pseudo file systems. But at least the entry for "/" should be there. FWIW, it works fine for me on SuSE Linux 10.2 with 5.4.x SVN.
