Hello, I have a problem with some 3rd party software (Orion network
performance monitor - SolarWinds) trying to access a server I have over
snmp.
I am running Oracle Enterprise Linux v5 (basically Redhat)
I am running net-snmp-5.1.2-11.EL4.7 on the server
I have it configured quite simply to be accessed from a single server IP
on a read only community. I can get basic information from the box no
problem, latency, cpu, memory, etc. but my solarwinds app has the
functionalty to monitor applications on the server. Although when I try
interogate the server from solarwinds for applications I get the
following error.
[server name] does not support the Host Resources MIB or is not
responding to SNMP queiries
I've tried looking for something in snmp.conf but can't see what I need
to do.
Does anyone have experience of this, or even know what the "Host
Resources MIB" is?
I hate to say it but it works a treat on all my 2003 servers.
All I want to do is get it working but that is easier said than done for
me.
I'll keep my fingers crossed someone understands what I need to do.
Thanks in advance, Steve.
