I am trying to make my SNMP agent fire linkUp & linkDown traps.
I'm not able to do it, following are the details.
1) /var/snmp/snmpd.conf

createUser internal MD5 "the first sign of madness" (line 467)
iquerySecName internal
rouser internal
linkUpDownNotifications yes (line 473)
trapcommunity public
trap2sink 172.21.10.10

2) After starting the snmpd, I got the following error messages
(from "/var/log/snmpd.log")
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf: line 467: Error: Unknown authentication protocol
trigger OID: ifOperStatus
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf: line 473: Error: unknown monitor OID
trigger OID: ifOperStatus
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf: line 473: Error: unknown monitor OID
net-snmp: 3 error(s) in config file(s)

3) I've built the SNMP with
--with-out-mib-modules="disman/event/mteEventConf" -----Line 1
--with-mibs-modules="disman/event-mib" -------Line 2
--with-mibs="DISMAN-EVENT-MIB.txt" ----------Line 3
(If I don't use "Line 1", I get the error
mibgroup/disman/event/mteEventConf.c: In function 'parse_notificationEvent':

4) /usr/share/snmp/mibs/ in agent host contains,
DISMAN-EVENT-MIB.txt, IF-MIB.txt and
SNMPv2-MIB.txt

Obviously due to the configuration or build option error, my SNMP agent is not
firing the linkUp & linkDown traps.
What should I do?
