That is the big question, I think the answer is that some vendors provide this in extension MIBs but there is no common support for ETHERLIKE with SNMP on hosts, which is too bad. This is a huge undertaking but would be a huge win for Net-SNMP if it does not provide this information already.
On the other hand, you could 'hack' support for this in by extending the agent with a script that works for the environments you are managing, not ideal but workable if you are in control / have say with the people who administer the hosts you manage in your environment.
