Thomas,
thanks for your help. I found "libgcc_s.so.1" in usr/local/lib,
so ran the command..
/usr/bin/crle -u -l /usr/local/lib (as root).
/usr/bin/crle now gives this on my system..
dltlsec3> /usr/bin/crle
Configuration file [version 4]: /var/ld/ld.config
Default Library Path (ELF):
/usr/lib:/usr/local/ssl/lib:/usr/local/lib
Trusted Directories (ELF): /usr/lib/secure (system default)
Command line:
crle -c /var/ld/ld.config -l
/usr/lib:/usr/local/ssl/lib:/usr/local/lib
I have re-run 'make' and 'make test' and all the tests completed this
time.
Thanks You very much for your help.

Now you know what copying the list is for. :-)

"libgcc_s.so" isn't the same as "libgcc_s.so.1". Find out where you have
"libgcc_s.so.1" and add that path to your crle config.
