AES support was first added in 5.0.5  (see the NEWS file),
so I'd expect it to be working in 5.0.9

Did you compile this code from source, or are you using
a pre-installed binary distribution?
   If you compiled from source, do you have OpenSSL installed?
If pre-installed, where did this package come from?

The 5.0.x line is no longer being supported, so we would
strongly encourage you to upgrade to a less archaic version.
