Now I'm completely confused.
You say that the traps are being logged,
yet you've also said that you are running the trap receiver as

   snmptrapd -f -Le -Dsnmptrapd -d

That ought to log incoming traps to standard error,
rather than a file.

Are you sure there isn't another version of snmptrapd running?


Also - what are the contents of the /etc/snmp/traphandler.pl script,
and what are the permissions on this file?
