A notification will be defined in a MIB file. As such, there will be an OID associated with it. Either directly (for SMIv2 MIBs), or implicitly (for SMIv1 MIBs, based on the enterprise and value) Similarly, when an notification request is sent/received, then this will include the OID of the trap.
