Hello all, I'm trying to run quagga's OSPF with net-snmp. It has authetication problems and I'm not sure on whose behalf since this is the first time I'm doing this.
First of all, is it possible to have SNMP <-> OSPF communications that are in cleartext, without any encryption/authentication ? I'm asking because I'm in this bind with the GPL/BSD licenses over SSL. Secondly, is it possible to use GnuTLS with net-snmp ? Now, what I get from the console is the following, periodically at about every 20 seconds: smux: [smux_accept] Calling accept() [smux_accept] accepted fd 10 from 127.0.0.1:58936 smux: [smux_open_process] version 0, len 41, type 2 smux: [smux_open_process] smux peer: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3317.1.2.5 smux: [smux_open_process] len 29, type 6 smux: [smux_open_process] smux peer descr: Quagga-0.98.6 smux: [smux_open_process] len 14, type 4 smux: [smux_open_process] smux peer passwd: quagga_ospfd smux: [smux_open_process] len 0, type 4 refused smux peer: oid SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3317.1.2.5, descr Quagga-0.98.6 smux: [smux_close] sending close to fd 10, reason 5 smux: [smux_accept] peer on 10 failed authentication 2008/04/04 18:50:17 OSPF: SMUX_CLOSE with reason: 5 snmpd.conf has: syslocation "Right here" syscontact [EMAIL PROTECTED] rwcommunity private rocommunity public authtrapenable 1 trapcommunity trapcomm trapsink 196.0.100.1 trap2sink 196.0.100.1 com2sec readonly default public group MyROGroup v1 readonly view all included .1 80 access MyROGroup "" any noauth exact all none none smuxpeer .1.3.6.1.4.1.3317.1.2.5 quagga_ospfd And ospfd.conf has the following line: smux peer .1.3.6.1.4.1.3317.1.2.5 quagga_ospfd If anyone can be of help, that would be greatly appreciated - thanks.
