Hello All, I am trying to receive traps on a FC10 box that is running net-snmp 5.4.2.1
When I run snmptrapd -f -Le -D and cause my remote system to send a trap, I get: snmp_parse: Parsed SNMPv3 message (secName:edgewater, secLevel:authNoPriv): USM unknown security name (no such user exists) My /etc/snmp/snmptrapd.conf has: createUser -e 0x0102030405 edgewater MD5 edgewater DES edgewater And my /var/net-snmp/snmptrapd.conf has: usmUser 1 3 0x0102030405 0x65646765776174657200 0x65646765776174657200 NULL .1.3.6.1.6.3.10.1.1.2 0xc58c7e4655f97187d370e59e2705660a .1.3.6.1.6.3.10.1.2.2 0xc58c7e4655f97187d370e59e2705660a 0x00 usmUser 1 3 0x80001f8880a6aba16d9a0ec949 0x65646765776174657200 0x65646765776174657200 NULL .1.3.6.1.6.3.10.1.1.2 0x82d13214223d43e8ab1edae282ff0ba9 .1.3.6.1.6.3.10.1.2.1 0x 0x00 engineBoots 4 oldEngineID 0x80001f8880c6bde9046b1fc949 The source system that is sending the trap has: trapsess -v 3 -u edgewater -l authnopriv -n none -a MD5 -A edgewater 10.10.50.158:162 Anyone have any idea why it's not working? I can receive traps from this same source system on another box that is Running net-snmp version: 5.2.1.2 Thanks for any help.
