ac> Please find attached ethereal logs and netsnmp stub code . which i ac> used for testing. Thanks for the logs. They've shown me positively that the agent is broken. When it reboots it is restarting it's SNMPv3 boots and time values at 1 again. This is illegal and is the source of your problems. You need to contact the device vendor and get them to fix the problem in their software. It's not Net-SNMP's fault. (if you look through the logs you can see the point where the engineboots is at 1 and some number (30 and then something larger) and then suddenly it is back to 1 and 15, which means it's going back in time. That "1" should be "2" instead to fix the problem. SNMPv3 requires persistent data storage on the device for the protocol to work properly. ac> Raised a bug in Net-snmp also. ac> BUGID :2788443 I've closed that as well; your packet trace proves it's a problem with the agent. -- Wes Hardaker Cobham Analytic Solutions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Crystal Reports - New Free Runtime and 30 Day Trial Check out the new simplified licensing option that enables unlimited royalty-free distribution of the report engine for externally facing server and web deployment. http://p.sf.net/sfu/businessobjects _______________________________________________ Net-snmp-users mailing list [email protected] Please see the following page to unsubscribe or change other options: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
