This is my configure options for cross-compiling to a PPC (ignore
the --with-mib-modules, that's my stuff). I am able to create an executable
for snmpd.

INCLUDE_PATH=-I/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/include/c++/3.4.4
-I/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/include/c++/3.4.4/powerpc-405-linux-gnu

-I/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/powerpc-405-linux-gnu/sys-include
set COMPILER_PATH=/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/bin
LDFLAGS=-lpthread
export COMPILER_PATH
export INCLUDE_PATH
./configure --target=powerpc-405-linux-gnu \
              --host=powerpc-405-linux-gnu \

--with-cc=/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/bin/powerpc-405-linux-gnu-gcc
\

--with-ar=/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/bin/powerpc-405-linux-gnu-ar
\

--with-ln=/opt/crosstool/powerpc-linux/bin/powerpc-405-linuc-gnu-ln
\
              --with-ldflags=$LDFLAGS \
              --with-endianness=big \
              --disable-embedded-perl \
              --with-mib-modules="coretecMIB
