RPM package that comes with my CentOS is version 5.3.1. I've experienced using netsnmp version 5.4.2.1 with RedHat and it is stable. I thought it gonna be so easy and stable having that version also in CentOS.
I used to compile NetSNMP with --enable-embedded-perl --enable-shared. For the Perl 5.8.8 my mistake it's from the RPM of CentOS. I also used to install the NetSNMP perl separately to isolate the problem but still the same. Thanks for the reply. --- On Mon, 6/22/09, Dave Shield <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Dave Shield <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: NetSNMP Perl compilation problem in CentOS > To: [email protected] > Cc: [email protected] > Date: Monday, June 22, 2009, 4:57 PM > 2009/6/22 <[email protected]>: > > I'm using CentOS (Linux version 2.6.18-92.el5). > NetSNMP 5.4.2.1 (installed via ./configure and installed > with perl package). > > Perl 5.8.8 (installed via ./configure). > > Is there any reason why you are compiling these from > source, > rather than installing the perl RPMs that come with > CentOS? > > What compilation flags are used for the two builds? > > > > Dave > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Are you an open source citizen?
