The suggestion to try the latest was, I believe, simply the desire to
find out if this is a problem in the current codebase or not. I don't know
that we ever heard back about it. If you have the latest code running, I would
suggest you post a backtrace of the crash with any other details you can offer.
It may be good to make the core file available (don't post it!). I can't
guarantee anyone will work on this, but the odds are best if you make it very
easy to do so.
