hello Group, I'm a new-user of the NetSNMP toolkit (I'm new to SNMP, as well). I'd really appreciate if anyone on the group could help me with my query. Is it possible to send traps with non-ASCII data using the toolkit?
In particular, I tried the following command line which didn't seem to work: > snmptrap -d -v 2c -c somestuff 10.31.251.74 SOME-MIB::someAlert 1 details s > "テスト何か" Sending 63 bytes to UDP: [0.0.0.0]->[10.31.251.74]:162 0000: 30 3D 02 01 01 04 04 73 6F 6D 65 A7 32 02 02 03 0=.....someº2... 0016: 72 02 01 00 02 01 00 30 26 30 0F 06 0A 2B 06 01 r......0&0...+.. 0032: 06 03 01 01 04 01 00 06 01 01 30 13 06 0A 2B 06 ..........0...+. 0048: 01 04 01 C0 9A 67 2A 02 04 05 3F 3F 3F 3F 3F ...└Üg*...????? As you see, the Japanese characters were replaced by "?". Can someone point me to some sample code using NetSNMP APIs which I can send such traps with unicode data? thanks, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
