Yes, it does. What authentication and privacy algorithms are supported depends
on how the package was built. You may want to run:
foo# snmpd -H 2>&1 | egrep 'def(Auth|Priv)Type'
defAuthType MD5|SHA
defPrivType DES|AES

to find out.
