In case of a agentx session timeout with the snmp subagent, the master agent
closes the session and detaches the subagent registered MIB values.
But in certain scenarios, the snmpd process results in a crash upon snmp
requests after timeout. In the local setup, even having a agentx timeout of
around 120 seconds is of no use and the snmpd process crashes.
There is a related defect#1310556 still open. In this regard I observe that
there are some previous comments related to this issue stating the following :

A number of bad things can happen when a request to a sub-agent times out.
The master agent closes the session, but everything is not cleaned up properly.
One possible result is the message you got - another is bad memory references.
If you just want to get rid of the symptom, you should increase the timeout on
agentX sessions (agentxTimeout token in snmpd.conf). The default is 1 sec.
A fix for this requires some thorough analysis of the session shutdown code.

Has this issue been addressed ? Is a patch available for the same ?
