Are you developing an SNMP agent from scratch, or are you
wanting to extend the agent to support particular MIB modules?

If you're looking to extend the agent, then have a look at the
project website, which has various tutorials to get you started.

If you're writing an agent from scratch, then I'd probably suggest
that you don't actually use our code as a starting point.  Our
agent is reasonably functional, but it's not exactly easy to follow!

I'm not particularly familiar with the other Open Source SNMP agents,
but I suspect that something like SNMP++ or bsnmp might be a
simpler starting point.


I've no idea where you came across mention of "sample.c" - it's
not something that we provide (AFAIK)
