I'll let Bart or one of the other respond to that.
I'm not really an expert on the Windows side - I've just
been working with Bart to get the recent releases as
solid as possible.

It's probably not sensible to try and apply large number of patches
individually. If there are one or two patches that clearly address
a particular problem that you are experiencing, then it's sometimes
worth applying those to a release code tree.

But in your case, I'd suggest the two sensible options are:

  a) Work with the 5.4.3 release, which is known to compile
       cleanly under Windows.
(Bart will hopefully soon have a suggestion
              regarding your service issue)

  b) Work with the latest (unreleased) version of the 5.5 code
Yes - that is the net-snmp-svn-V5-5-patches_xxx_xxx.tar.gz bundle.

Note that this is (meant to be) a "nightly snapshot", so may
not always be 100% working code. But it's going to have
all the latest fixes and patches, so may well work better than
        the full releases.
(I'm not sure why these snapshots haven't been updated
recently - that's something we need to chase up).

Bottom line - either give the Windows experts a chance to look at
the service issue, or try the 5-5-patches snapshot.

Dave
