I created a user:
adding the following line to /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf:
createUser velocity MD5 "velocitypwd" DES
adding the following line to /usr/local/share/snmp/snmpd.conf:
rwuser velocity
BUt, when I attempt an snmpget it fails:
# snmpget -v 3 -u velocity -l authNoPriv -a MD5 -A velocitypwd localhost
Missing object name
I added sysUpTime.0
Issued: snmpget -v 3 -u velocity -l authNoPriv -a MD5 -A velocitypwd localhost
sysUpTime.0
Received: snmpget: Unknown user name (Sub-id not found: (top) -> sysUpTime)
I am running: [/usr/netsnmp/net-snmp-5.4.3]
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Roger
