I've just had a look through the MIB module code, and there's nowhere
that currently uses this facility.
   (There are a number of modules (mostly MfD-based) that include
a mechanism for setting this field - but none of them actually do so!)

The only place where this field is ever used is within the main table helper,
which (in principle) can use it to determine which columns are valid.
   But in practise, all current MIB modules use the simpler
         min_column .. max_column
                  approach.

So, no - there is currently no example of using this field.
