As Tsolakos has said, you really need to give us more information
about exactly what you have done.
   "tried the tutorial examples" is too vague to be of much use.

*Exactly* what did you do?
Which tutorials are you working with?

OK - comments on this file:

 *   If you've got 'rocommunity' and 'rwcommunity' entries   (lines 76 & 77)
then you don't need group, view or access entries  (lines 79-95)


 *   I'd recommend that you look at using "extend" rather "exec" (lines 277-280)
(and again line 397)


 *  The example script in the "extensible" block needs to be commented out
         (lines 389-391).   This will be treated as (invalid)
configuration tokens


 *  "pass" is not the same as "exec"/"extend".  It uses a different mechanism.
You cannot use the same scripts for both.   (lines 279 & 397 vs 441)
