It might be worth trying with 5.5.1 (or 5.6.1),
in case the underlying problem has been fixed since the 5.5 release.

If you still get this problem with the newer versions, please post the
full compilation log (or a pointer to it).
I normally generate this using something like
make 2>&1 | tee log.txt
