Hi,

I am running net-snmp 5.6.1. I have my properietary MIB which I load
as a dynamic module. The standard MIB modules are built into the
agent.

I start the snmp daemon by :

/usr/sbin/snmpd -Lsd -Lf /dev/null -p /var/run/snmpd.pid

After that I dynamically load the proprietary mib module. I am able
to access the standard MIB objects as well as my proprietary mib
objects. The things are fine upto this point.

But if I leave snmpd for some time (1 hour) and then go for accessing
the mib objects(standard as well as proprietary), the snmpget or walk
request time out. It is weird. I did "ps -eaf" to check the snmpd . It
was there. I had an impression that some other process has killed it.
But it was present . Any idea what is going wrong here ?

I have noticed this problems multiple times. killing and restarting
snmpd make the agent to respond again.

Have somebody experienced this problem before ?

Regards,
Sunaina
