No - display hints will be used for both string and integer-based objects.

hints are only used for displaying the _results_ of a command.
I very much doubt whether they are used for interpreting the
value given to an "snmpset" command.

Yes - this would probably be a sensible addition,  but it will
require someone to sit down and write the necessary code.
