I'm trying to run in Ubuntu 9.10 OS the subagent example provided at link
http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/TUT:Writing_a_Subagent
I have downloaded the example-demon files and compiled them using the
included makefile.
When I start the example-demon , it correctly connect to the master agent
and run.
I can also get the NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0 variable,
as described in the example.
However, when I try to set the variable using the command
snmpset localhost NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0 = 5,
I get this error message :
Error in packet.
Reason: (badValue) The value given has the wrong type or length.
Failed object: NET-SNMP-TUTORIAL-MIB::nstAgentSubagentObject.0
Is someone knowing what could be the cause of this problem?
Before to compile the subagent I have downloaded the NET-SNMP source project
5.6.1.1 and installed it following procedure described at link.

The snmpd.conf file is configured as per suggestions provided in the example
page.
Is there any other configuration I need to do in order to be able to write
values to this OID?
