No!
You should *NOT* edit or change the text of MIB files.
These are standard definitions, agreed by the networking community
as a whole. You cannot unilaterally decide to change how things should work.
Any more than you can decide to invent a whole new set of email domains
or alter how the web operates.

Standards are standard - common agreements.
That's the purpose of them.

Ahem - that's not actually a "very basic" task.
Implementing your own MIB is a medium-advanced task.

I would *strongly* suggest that you spend some time working with the
existing agent first, and gain a feel for how SNMP works in practise.
That will save you (and us!) a lot of heartache in the long run.

Don't even think about writing or coding your own MIBs until you are
confident that you understand the structure, behaviour and ethos of
SNMP and MIB design.

Nooooooo!!!!!

*Why* do you want to change sysName?
What are you trying to do?

If all you need is to change the value that is returned for this object,
then have a look at the snmpd.conf(5) man page. That explains how
to do this.
If you have a different task in mind, then you need to explain yourself
a bit more clearly.
