Pay attention to the compiler and 'make' you are using.

Subject: net-snmp install on AIX 5.3
I'm attempting to install net-snmp 5.7.1 on AIX 5.3 I used the following
commands:
./configure --disable-shared --disable-embedded-perl --without-kmem-usage
--with-default-snmp-version="2"
I get error:
checking whether the Perl function system() invokes a POSIX
shell... syntax error at -e line 1, at EOF
Execution of -e aborted due to compilation errors.
./configure[6481]: : cannot execute
./configure[6481]: "');': unknown test operator
but it continues
make
mkdir /usr/local/dist
make install prefix=/usr/local/dist/usr/local
exec_prefix=/usr/local/dist/usr/local
The make install fails with the following error:
install: installed net-snmp-create-v3-user.1 in
/usr/local/dist/usr/local/share/man/man1
/bin/sh: 0403-057 Syntax error at line 1 : `;' is not expected.
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 2.
Stop.
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 2.
Attached is the output log. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
