We recently upgraded the snmpd server on our boxes from 5.2 to 5.7.1. In the previous version, I get data returned when I ask for ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable (for a specific port). Now, I get this
$ snmpwalk -c public 10.1.1.1 .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.14 IF-MIB::ifLinkUpDownTrapEnable = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID I'm using the same configuration to compile both versions. I start snmpd with this command line and get these warning messages: # /usr/sbin/snmpd -I -interfaces -I -icmp udp:161 udp6:161 -f -Le error on subcontainer 'ia_addr' insert (-1) Turning on AgentX master support. NET-SNMP version 5.7.1 duplicate registration: MIB modules if number and AgentX subagent 6, session 0xb28b8, subsession 0xc33b8 (oid .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.1). duplicate registration: MIB modules ifTable and AgentX subagent 6, session 0xb28b8, subsession 0xc33b8 (oid .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2). duplicate registration: MIB modules ifXTable and AgentX subagent 6, session 0xb28b8, subsession 0xc33b8 (oid .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1). I've tried various config changes and other guesses, but I'm grasping at straws. I'm using an unpatched version compiled from the `v5.7.1` tag in the git repository. -- David Dombrowsky, Software Engineer Sixnet, a Red Lion business | www.sixnet.com +1 (518) 877‐5173 x161 office VGh1IE1heSAzMSAwMDowMDowMSBFRFQgMjAxMgo= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
