Hello,
I am a novice to net-snmp (snmpd).
I would like to ask whether net-snmp can be considered thread safe when using
the out of the box features as it is.
My needs are simple actually.
I am using net-snmp (snmpd) to query,
1)the load average of the host linux server (made available in the UCD tree)
2)an extension implemented using the extend directive, for example, "extend
.1.3.6.1.4.1.xxxx.yy.z ext1 /usr/bin/head -c 10 /path/to/afile.txt"
I did find the following pages in the wiki that talks about thread safety when
using the net-snmp library, but I am not clear whether they are relevant when
using net-snmp (snmpd) as it is out of the box.
http://www.net-snmp.org/FAQ.html#Is_Net_SNMP_thread_safe_
http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/README.thread.html
Thanks for your time and patience
Venkat
