I'm a newbie wrt netsnmp ... apologies upfront. I am running netsnmp on a linux box. I setup an snmpd.conf file and startup snmpd pointing to this file. QUESTION 1: With the snmpd up and running, what's the simplest way to update sysLocation (read/write) from the local linux box ? * should I use "/usr/bin/snmpset localhost ... " ? * should I kill snmpd, update the snmpd.conf file, and restart snmpd ? QUESTION 2: With the snmpd up and running, what's the simplest way to update sysDescr (read only) from the local linux box ? * should I kill snmpd, update the snmpd.conf file, and restart snmpd ? * ... are there any other options ? ...
