Hello there, while trying to set up and run a simple SNMP namager and agent example in my two linux ubuntu machines I stumbled upon a problem.Using the "snmpget -c public -v1 192.168.1.5 iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.5.0 -d " after displaying messages of " sending 43 bytes to UDP ", it all comes down to the "Timeout: No Response from 192.168.1.5 ".I have configured the /etc/hosts.allow to include the line "snmpd: ALL " ,plus snmpd.conf files on both machines have the rocommunity public 192.168.0.0/24 line and the agent has the agentAddress udp:161,tcp:161,udp6:161,tcp6:161 line included.However, in both machines when i run for the localhost the "snmpget -c public -v1 localhost system.sysDescr.0" command ,terminal is filled with the requested information about my system. What am I missing here?Do I have to do anything else to get my snmpget message to be heard from the manager? Thank you in advance for your time and will provide any viable info upon request.I am new to the whole snmp-linux-terminal-messaging thing so please be patient.
