Hello

I wonder how can the trap message sending interval lowered in snmpd.conf.

I do simple checks like:

disk       /     50%
disk       /var  50%
includeAllDisks  10%
proc apache2 100 1
...

But as I noticed these trap messages only sent once in every 10 minutes (or
when I manually restart the snmpd and it does the first checks at start):

 snmptrapd[7376]: 2014-11-24 15:39:10 localhost [UDP:
[127.0.0.1]:42457->[127.0.0.1]]:#012SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.1.3.0 = Timeticks: (9)
0:00:00.09#011SNMPv2-SMI::snmpModules.1.1.4.1.0 = OID:
SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.88.2.0.1#011SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.88.2.1.1.0 = STRING: "process

1#011UCD-SNMP-MIB::prNames.1 = STRING: nmap#011UCD-SNMP-MIB::prErrMessage.1 =
STRING: Too few apache2 running (# = 0)

I only found one meaningful article about this on the net:

http://iwl.com/forum/493-silvercreek-trap-interval-for-net-snmp-a-little-off-the-silvercreek-topic

Here this monitor option in snmpd.conf is obsolete/invalid by now and it's just
for the link status:
monitor -r 60 -e linkUpTrap ""Generate linkUp"" ifOperStatus != 2

I would prefer sending an SNMP trap right when an event happens (latest within
30 seconds) for the same reason why the guy detailing it in the article. That's
the whole point of traps now isn't it that when something happens let's notify
the monitoring server ASAP instead of waiting 10 minutes for it to poll...

Anybody know how can this trap notification be lowered as much as possible? Do
I have to use another MIB than UCD-SNMP-MIB to accomplish this?

Thanks
