Hi all,

I am currently using the Windows version of net-snmp 5.7.3. We are
currently using the snmptrap daemon to process traps from our network
devices. The windows desktop that runs this snmptrap daemon 24x7x365 and
sends out emails containing the trap information. We suspect that the
snmptrap daemon is causing a port exhaustion as after running for some
time, about 14 days, we can no longer connect to the email host. Also, all
connections to the internet is no longer possible. This problem will go
away when we stop the snmptrap daemon.

Is this a known issue with the snmptrap daemon? If yes, is there a
fix/patch to this issue?
If there is not fix/patch are there any workarounds that someone can
recommend?

Any help provided is much appreciated.

Thank you.
Best Regards,

*Con Nie Ong*
