Is setting the string in snmpd.conf a viable option?

# sudo grep sysDe /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
sysDescr changed string
# snmpget -v2c -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 = STRING: "changed string"
