Hi,
We are running alma9 linux, and have problems with snmp network
ifindexes that change between reboots. I am told by our network
technicians that this causes an issue for them, with their Whatsup Gold
network monitoring tool.
This is alma9, and comes with:
net-snmp.x86_64 1:5.9.1-17.el9 @appstream
net-snmp-agent-libs.x86_64 1:5.9.1-17.el9 @appstream
net-snmp-libs.x86_64 1:5.9.1-17.el9 @appstream
net-snmp-utils.x86_64 1:5.9.1-17.el9 @appstream
We know on cisco you can use
snmp ifindex persist
to keep indexes consistent.
Is there a way to achieve the same behaviour on linux?
(and if this is not the proper place to ask...just let me know)
Thanks!
MJ
