Hi,

It seems that the following question has been posted several times now, and even with all the lastest versions (Linux, pre-asun, MacOS...) WE are still having this problem. I think that it should be discussed, because many users are currently loosing documents.
Regards,

Guillaume

One of our Macs (7.6.1, OT 1.1.2, PowerMac 7500/100) is consistently
freezing copying multiple documents to our Netatalk server (1.4b2+asun
2.1.3).  Frequently copying documents one at a time will work (but sometimes
it will lock up).  Downloading from the server seems to work fine, singly or
multiple.  Other machines aren't having this problem.

My logs say:
(date) (host) afpd(pid): dsi_stream_read(-1): Connection reset by peer
(date) (host) afpd(pid): dsi_stream_write: Broken pipe
(date) (host) afpd(pid): xxx.xxKB read, xxx.xxKB written
(date) (host) afpd(pid): dsi stream_write: Broken pipe

I see this set of messages over and over, as she reboots and tries to copy
again.  I don't see it coming from any other clients though.

One note:  I recently changed the netatalk share: I installed a new hard
drive, mounted it to a different mount point, changed AppleVolumes.system to
reflect the new path (same share name) and copied everything from the old
share to the new.  As far as the Macs are concerned, everything should look
the same as it ever did (and it does).  Could I have screwed something up?

Any ideas on what I should be looking for? Any tricks to try?

-Josh
