Can't get netatalk to compile on RedHat 6.0

Could the list help please?

My system is missing header file
<bytesex.h>, referenced by "endian.h" under the source
netatalk include directory. Do I need any special kernel headers
files for netatalk?

Also, I can't compile afpd/main.c. Again, I don't have the needed
stuff for it to understand the ioctl TIOCNOTTY, the code which is
isolating the daemon from the controlling terminal.
