I didn't realize you were using lprng...  You can get excellent help by
asking your question in the lprng mailing list.  Go to
http://www.astart.com/lprng/LPRng.html and at the bottom of the page is
instructions on how to join the mailing list.

Also, have you ran "checkpc -f"?  This should fix up all the permissions
on your spool directory...
