Do you know of any interpretations of the Mona Lisa that view the sitter's garments as a metaphor for science, technology, and networks, based on the fact that the bridge (the only technological artifact in the background) flows directly into the vortex-like shape of the shawl? My current hypothesis is that the ML is Leonardo's map and manifesto about geologic time; rivers as "sources" for networks such as cities, technology, and cultures; and technology and stored learning as a network-fabric "garment" rather than essence, in contrast to the human capacity for experience and creativity embodied by the figure (face/heart/hands) with whom we are meant to share moments of meditative connection and communication mainly via "eye contact", facial expression, and interoception (or "proprioception of thought" as Bohm described it).
