thanks a lot for this roger - it's great that you have made this
available. (i realise that i never managed to get round to archiving the
Dissension Convention performance that we did in VS ... ruth, marc, any
chance it still exists somewhere??).

UpStage is similar-but-different to VS, & we are currently trying to get
funding to do a complete rebuild in order to bring it up-to-date with
current technologies (especially removing its dependency on flash) & at
the same time adding new features. we welcome input from anyone with
ideas, e.g. cool features from VS that could be integrated - especially
if you can code! :) we hope that we can make a new platform that is
modular, so that artists can select the features they want and build new
ones to plug in according to our artistic needs. it would be great to
work together with others with similar ideas, and share our resources so
that we can make a sustainable platform.

the working name of the new platform is Limelight and you can find it on
https://github.com/upstage-org/limelight/ and there is also a
developers' email list
(https://lists.servus.at/mailman/listinfo/upstage-dev-lists.servus.at).

& we have an open walkthrough in UpStage coming up on thursday, for
anyone who is interested in finding out how the current version of
UpStage works:
