I thought of Beckett too when I read this, especially the lines

Of course you do set yourself up to fail when you set yourself the task of publishing something online every day; I was thinking this when you were having those exchanges with Annie Abrahams just recently; but the inevitability of failure is an essential part of what you do, it seems to me.
