I am happy to share an announcement for the imminent DiGRA Italia Talks: a
series of online events connecting Italian game studies scholars with
international researchers.

Our initial meetings are on December 5th and 12th.

On December 5th we talk about machinima (the use of real-time game graphics
engines to create a cinematic production) with prof Tracy Harwood, De
Montfort University, co-author of *Pioneers in Machinima: The Grassroots of
Virtual Production* (Vernon Press, 2021), and Gemma Fantacci, PhD at IULM
and co-curator of the Milan Machinima Festival:

On December 12th, on the occasion of the Italian translation of *Gaming:
Essays on Algorithmic Culture* (University of Minnesota Press, 2006), we
talk with
Alexander R. Galloway, Professor of Media, Culture and Communication at New
York University, author of the original text and of numerous publications
on digital media and critical theory, and translators Giacomo Pedini
(Mittelfest Festival) and Mauro Salvador (Università degli Studi di Modena
